Last Night was in a sense, a Nightmare.
I was finally comfortable of the bed of damp leaves when I thought I heard footsteps. I tensed up. Just great. My small fire had died out a hour ago so I had nothing to see with. Finally my body relaxed and I fell asleep. Not long after I fell asleep I was awoken with to the same sound.
I felt around.
There's my fire stick and flint, I thought, I struck them together.
WHOSH!
I never struck them like that with that intensity. The fire came to life on the end of my stick and I held it up as a torch.
Nothing.
Should I be relieved or... frightened.
All of a sudden out of the thick night shadows came a figure. It was too thin to be a human- I was sure. But I was easily mistaken. "Shhh." Came a voice. I spun around thinking the voice came from behind me.
"No, over here."
I felt it smile- no smirk.
My shaky voice called out, "Come out!"
It actually obeyed me. (If thats the right word)
Then I saw her. The person was a female as tall as me. She was wearing a tunic wade of dark wool (that I could see) and had a few packs on her. Her black hair reached her shoulders- or maybe a little past them.
"Hannah." She called.
She knew my name, I frantically tried to recall her.
I sat up and glared-gaze at her. Then I took a breath of relief. I knew her.
"Sarah, I haven't seen you in awhile." It was my sister- we parted ways when we were 9 years old to go to the schools we wanted to go to. She went to the Black Arts Society/ School and I went to Manner Hall. She had changed visibly- and I didn't know if I liked it.
Then she spoke, "Sorry if I startled you."
I smirked my thanks. For going to Manner Hall- I still needed a bit of work.
"Hannah, your wanted. Yes by me but by the authorities. By the Judges. By the Leaders. By your high ranking friends. By all those Bad guys."
I shuddered.
She continued a little softer now. "I had to fall from the comforts too." She looked away- almost wishful. Then she spoke with intensity, "You are wanted and this cubby hole won't cut it for long. Come with me."
I would have asked "now?" but it was more like an order than a command.
So now it was. Some reason I trusted her as I raised my self grabbed my only bag and slowly stepped into the surrounding darkness...
